Visiting our little corner of paradise in Locmaria is an adventure in its own right! Here is all the practical information you need to plan your journey with peace of mind, whether you are coming by car, on foot or by bike.
Step 1: The sea crossing
Departing from Quiberon (All year round)
As your holiday on Belle-Île begins the moment you arrive at the pier, here is some useful information on how to get here:
La compagnie BreizhGo Océane assure des liaisons quotidiennes (environ 50 min de traversée).
- Top tip: In July, August and during the long weekends, booking is essential, especially for the vehicles and the bicycles.
- Parking: There are two secure car parks available in Quiberon where you can leave your car on the mainland.

Departing from Vannes or Port-Navalo (seasonal)
From April to September, enjoy a cruise lasting around two hours in the Gulf of Morbihan. Three companies (Compagnie du Golfe, Navix and Enora) offer high-speed boat crossings to Le Palais.
Step 2: Get to the campsite from the port (Le Palais)
Once you’ve disembarked at Belle-Île, there are several ways to get to Les Grands Sables:
- By bus: Take the Belle-Île Bus service. The “Les Grands Sables” stop is located right opposite the beach, just a few metres away from the entrance to the campsite. Check the opening hours here.
- By car/bike: Follow signs for Locmaria, then follow the signs for ‘Plage des Grands Sables’.
- On foot (for hikers): For an immediate taste of the local area, take the coastal path (GR340). It takes about 1 hour 45 minutes’ walk through breathtaking scenery to reach your accommodation.
- By taxi: Several companies offering taxi services are available for a direct and hassle-free transfer.
- Travel light : Did you know that we offer rental of electric bikes directly at the campsite? Contact us to book yours and explore the island in complete freedom from the moment your arrival at our campsite!

How do I book online?
Our direct booking module allows you to check our availability in real time:
- Please enter your dates for your stay as desired.
- Please specify the number of participants (adults and children).
- Choose your accommodation: Browse our range of mobile homes and chalets (2 to 6 people), with or without bathroom facilities, or opt for the charm of an bare pitch (with or without electricity) for your tent, caravan, camper van or motorhome.
- Tailor your stay : Add your options (rental of linen, electric bikes, etc.) before you confirm.
Our terms and conditions for your stay
To ensure we can accommodate you as best as possible, we adjust our rental periods depending on the time of year:
Long weekends: For the long weekends in May (1 May, 8 May and Whitsun), the minimum stay is of 2 nights (3 nights for Ascension Day).
In the low season: Enjoy plenty of flexibility! Choose your arrival and departure dates (minimum 2 nights’ stay in holiday accommodation).
During the high season: For your summer holidays, rentals are on a weekly basis (minimum 7 consecutive days), with the flexibility to choose your arrival day during the week.
Payment and confirmation
Booking in Les Grands Sables guarantees a transparent and secure transaction:
We offer two booking options:
UNBEATABLE DEAL (Best rate)
100% of the stay must be paid at the time of booking; non-refundable in the event of cancellation; non-changeable.
FLEXIBLE PACKAGE
30% deposit payable upon booking. You may cancel your stay up to 30 days before the start date. The deposit is non-refundable. Please pay the balance 30 days before your arrival.
If you would like more comprehensive coverage, we recommend that you take out cancellation insurance with an external provider.
